Our people are a diverse group of individuals that come from all walks of life. We represent an eclectic mixture of race & ethnicity, gender and sexual orientation, and religious backgrounds or spiritual traditions. We are drawn together by a common love of TRiBE, by the shared belief in honoring our kinship with the earth and with each other.
Portland TRiBE is currently governed by a Vision Circle, guided by our Wayfinder, Jai Medina.
Jai is the Founder and Wayfinder of TRiBE. A multi-racial two-spirit, Jai is an ordained, interfaith priest and intuitive healer, who spent many years serving within different spiritual traditions before being called to be a catalyst for TRiBE. Jai has been studying myth and religion since childhood, and earned a B.A. in their self-designed major, “Shamanic Studies”, from Sarah Lawrence College in 2002, with a specialty in ancient and indigenous religions. In addition to helping facilitate TRiBE, Jai has a private practice, Two-Spirit Shamanic Healing, and has been working as a shamanic practitioner and spiritual counselor since 2009. They recently earned a Master’s degree in Counseling Psychology from Lewis and Clark College, with an emphasis on the intersections of mind, body, and spirit. Jai has spent much of their life as a teacher, writer, professional artist, photographer, and graphic designer, and now uses these gifts, amongst others, in the service of TRiBE.
